'Jose Mourinho Will Be Sacked By Tottenham If He Doesn’t Deliver One Thing

Jose Mourino will reportedly be sacked by Tottenham if he doesn't deliver on the one, ultimate aim that could yet save his job.

The Portuguese boss is under intense pressure after his Spurs side exited the Europa League on Thursday, despite holding a 2-0 lead going into the second leg.

A humiliating 3-0 defeat at the hands of Dinamo Zagreb piled the pressure on Mourinho.

It cut off one potential route to Champions League qualification for Spurs in 2021/22. And finishing in the Premier League's top four - and securing elite European football by that method - is apparently the only thing that will save Jose's bacon.

Sportsmail are reporting that - even if Tottenham can spring an upset and beat Manchester City in the Carabao Cup final next month - it's only guaranteeing Champions League football that will mean Mourinho is still in charge next season.

If Spurs finish fifth or below in the table at the end of this campaign, then it's the axe for the Special One.

The north London club are currently eighth in the table on 45 points with 10 games to play. But fourth place is not entirely out of reach.

Chelsea currently occupy that spot, with a six-point lead on Tottenham, but having played a game more.

Some Tottenham fans, disillusioned with the perceieved negative approach from Tottenham under Mourinho, might not consider it an absolute disaster if the 58-year-old is not in charge come the start of next season.

Julian Nagelsmann, the 33-year-old RB Leipzig boss, is reportedly a target for Daniel Levy and co. if Mourinho fails in his remaining target.

But, for all his side's struggles this season - including the ultimate rock-bottom of the Dinamo Zagreb defeat - Mourinho is still not a manager to be written off entirely.

Especially when he has one very clear path to saving his job.
