Harry Maguire was heard yelling expletives at Manchester United team-mate Aaron Wan-Bissaka over misplaced passes during the Red Devils' 1-0 win over West Ham on Sunday.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's side were frustrated for most of the game against the Hammers but eventually found a way through in the second-half via Hammers defender Craig Dawson's own goal.
In a first-half where United created very little against a low West Ham defensive block, Red Devils captain Maguire yelled at right-back Wan-Bissaka after he lost possession for the hosts.
Maguire was heard telling Wan-Bissaka to 'F****** tidy up, stop giving the f****** ball away!'
It is not the first time Maguire has been heard criticising his United team-mates on the pitch, as the 28-year-old argued with forward Marcus Rashford at Crystal Palace earlier this month.
The centre-back expressed his anger at club and England team-mate Rashford for being caught offside while attempting to get on the end of a header in a promising move.
'What do you want me to do?' Rashford asked before a furious Maguire replied: 'F****** get back onside!'
Rashford's response then saw him appear to tell his club captain to 'shut the f*** up, f****** k*******'.
Against West Ham on Sunday, Solskjaer admitted that tempers were high in the United dressing room at half-time as the hosts were frustrated by their inability to keep hold of the ball.
Solskjaer told Sky Sports after the match: 'The first 15 minutes we kept giving the ball away all the time. You don't build pressure or momentum and it's an end to end game.
'It's about calming heads down and getting composed. Then you'll get chances and you take them. We didn't but we got a set play and scored.'
The three points against West Ham came when Scott McTominay's header was glanced into his own net by Dawson while defending Bruno Fernandes' corner on 53 minutes.
The victory lifted United back into second place, 14 points behind Premier League leaders Manchester City but nine points ahead of West Ham in the place just outside the Champions League spots.
United now face a busy week away from the Premier League as they take on AC Milan in the Europa League last-16 second-leg before visiting Leicester City in next weekend's FA Cup quarter-final.
