Liverpool owner John W Henry has become the first owner of any of the Premier League's 'Big Six' to appear publicly, with the American apologising for the European Super League.
Fans of the club, along with those of Manchester City, Manchester United, Chelsea, Tottenham Hotspur and Arsenal, were vocal about not wanting to be part of the Super League.
There were banners attached to the gates of Anfield and even Bill Shankly's grandson called for the removal of the legendary manager's statue to be removed from outside of the ground.
On Tuesday night it seemed that fan power had won the day as one by one the English clubs backed out of the competition with statements.
Only Arsenal's statement had any apology to the fans but on Wednesday morning Henry appeared in a video to apologise to fans for the 'disruption' 'he alone' caused with the decision to enter the Super League.

Despite the apology however, lots of fans are not buying what Henry had to say and it seems that he has lost the support of many of the fans.
If it was never going to go forward without the support of the fans, why not ask them first?!

Pretty hollow words imo. https://t.co/LsZLwQfeMe
Grovelling to the fans to try to get back in their good books. Citing the pandemic 🤮🤮

He’s right to grovel to the Liverpool fans. But where is the apology to the game? Because it threatened ALL fans.
Nothing more than a PR exercise after failure. https://t.co/7JZcFPeUT8
If the fans have been heard, what were they heard saying? 👂🏼 #LFC https://t.co/oqsDS39TCV

Sadly, I don’t think this is enough to change my opinion anymore.

John saw $$$ and didn’t consider the supporters or the game in this country.

On Tuesday night, following the announcements that Manchester City and Chelsea were backing out of the Super League, Jamie Carragher called for FSG to leave Liverpool.
"I actually think the situation with Liverpool's owners is that l don't see how they can continue," Carragher said on Sky Sports following Chelsea's draw with Brighton.
"They can't just leave the club, obviously, the business is worth a lot of money.
"But I don't see a future for the ownership of FSG at Liverpool on the back of this."
