'One English Club 'Now Seriously Considering' Pulling Out Of European Super League

Two of the Premier League's six clubs are thought to be 'nervous' and 'disappointed' about the way the proposed European Super League is being handled.

Manchester City, Manchester United, Chelsea, Liverpool, Tottenham and Arsenal have agreed to join a new competition.

They all released statements on Sunday, outlining their plans to compete in the ESL which has been widely condemned by players, fans and critics.

However, it's claimed two English clubs are reconsidering their decision as the first cracks appear in the controversial project.

Journalist Oliver Holt said: "Hearing the first cracks may be beginning to appear in the ugly, misshapen edifice of the ESL. Told two English clubs are close to losing their nerve."

What's more, an unnamed Premier League club has reportedly accused Liverpool and Man United of "f**king up" and are seriously considering pulling out.

Alex Wickham tweeted: "They are accusing Liverpool and Manchester United - the 2 clubs leading the breakaway - of lying to them and "f***ing up."

Sky Sports' Kaveh Solhekol also shed some light on the situation, saying that one on the involved club's executives believes "they're being hung out to dry" and are "beginning to get cold feet."

He tweeted: "Strong differences of opinion emerging in private between breakaway clubs. Some of execs involved believe they're being hung out to dry & are beginning to get cold feet. They're nervous & disappointed about way it's been handled. One says: 'This is not what we signed up for.'"

In another tweet, he wrote: "Some of the breakaway clubs were very bullish about setting up the ESL as soon as possible while others saw it as an opportunity to sign up to something which they were willing to explore. Some of the clubs now want the ringleaders to come out immediately to explain their plans."

He also said: "Managers of breakaway clubs angry they've been put in firing line in the media. Managers, players & even some board members had been kept in the dark about ESL plans. Asked one exec if any clubs close to pulling out: 'No, not yet but the longer this goes on the harder it gets.'"

Will the ESL come to fruition? Stay tuned.
