'Cesc Fabregas Isn't Happy At Alan Shearer's Team Of The Decade

With 2020 just round the corner lots of people are looking back at the last 10 years to create their Team of the Decade, you'll see SPORTbible's on Christmas Day, and Alan Shearer's done his, but Cesc Fabregas isn't happy.

If 'a week is a long time in football' then 10 years feels like another lifetime ago. Compiling a best XI of those past 10 years isn't easy and will always create controversy and debate, no matter who you put in or leave out.

What Shearer probably wasn't expecting was that debate to come from one of the players he missed out, but at least it's a funny response.

In fairness to the Match of the Day pundit he's picked a pretty good side and the fact that Fabregas hasn't made it in says more about those that have.

The Monaco midfielder made around 190 appearances in the Premier League this decade and won two league titles, both with Chelsea, but it's difficult to argue with the players that Shearer has picked.

N'Golo Kante has become one of the world's best midfielders in the last few years, winning the Premier League with Leicester City and Chelsea in back-to-back seasons.

Yaya Toure was one of the main parts of changing Manchester City into the force in English football that they've become, winning three titles with the club before leaving in 2018.

Shearer's side essentially includes four central midfielders with Kevin de Bruyne and David Silva also included in the 'wide' midfield positions and it's pretty difficult to argue against their inclusion.

Chelsea and City players dominate the rest of the former Newcastle United striker's team with Petr Cech in goal, John Terry and Branislav Ivanovic joined by Vincent Kompany in defence.

Wayne Rooney is the only player from outside the dominant two sides with the Manchester United record scorer joining Eden Hazard and Sergio Aguero in a front three.

What do you make of Shearer's team? Should Cesc get a look in?
