'January 2020 Is Set To Be A Huge Month For Football Fans

January 2020 is set to be a huge month across the entire footballing world.

This month will see a variety of different derbies across a slew of countries to ensure fans remain glued to their seats.

The month opened with Arsenal vs Manchester United on New Year's Day and it'll only get feistier.

Sunday sees Liverpool and Everton clash in the FA Cup Third Round for 2020's first Merseyside Derby.

Liverpool defeated their neighbours 5-2 last month which saw Marco Silva sacked by the Toffee's.

This weekend sees Serie A return as Napoli welcome league leaders Inter Milan in the Monday night game.

Carabao Cup semi-finals begin next week and United welcome bitter rivals Manchester City for the season's second Manchester Derby on Tuesday January 7.

La Liga also resumes next week after the winter break.

Real Madrid and Barcelona are in action on Wednesday 8 and Thursday 9, facing Valencia and Atletico Madrid respectively.

Jose Mourinho's Tottenham Hotspur welcome Jurgen Klopp's Liverpool side on Saturday 11 in an attempt to halt their title charge.

The following day sees the Spanish Super Cup final take place in Saudi Arabia while Juventus travel to Roma.

The week after sees United and Liverpool face off at Anfield which promises to be an interesting game.

United are the only side to take points from the league leaders in the Premier League this season.

Sunday 26 Jan is set to be a huge day back in Italy.

Roma clash with fierce rivals Lazio at 5pm and both will be looking for a win after a 1-1 draw in the reverse fixture.

They've both enjoyed great starts to the season and find themselves in the top four.

Juventus take on Napoli in the late kick-off and despite 'Gli Azzurri's' disappointing season, Gennaro Gattuso will be keen to fire his Napoli side up.

The final big clash of the month sees United and City meet again in their second leg tie at the Etihad Stadium.

It's an important month which also sees the opening of the transfer window.

Players such as Erling Haaland and Zlatan Ibrahimovic have already made big moves so it'll be interesting to see if any more occur.
