'Premier League Will Support Trophy Presentation For Liverpool If They Are Crowned Champions

The Premier League will support a Liverpool trophy presentation if it is safe to do so.

Jurgen Klopp's side were closing in on a first Premier League title prior to the the season being postponed.

The campaign's restart is mooted for 12 June and with the runaway Reds just two wins away from securing the title, the Premier League's chief executive Richard Masters has confirmed he will support plans for the club to have an official trophy lift depending on the health situation.

"If at all possible, yes, you'd like to have a trophy presentation," Masters said on Monday, as per Sky Sports.

"You want to give those players and the whole staff the moment they worked so hard for, if that's what happens. Yes, we would try and do it, unless it wasn't possible because of safety concerns."

It would be unlikely that a parade through the streets of Liverpool, like when the Merseyside outfit won a sixth European Cup last year, would be allowed due to the need for social distancing following the COVID-19.

But there's optimism regarding some form of presentation after Masters' comments, which came after all 20 clubs voted in favour of small group training resuming from Tuesday.
