Liverpool captain Jordan Henderson thought he'd given his side a last minute victory over bitter rivals Everton - but VAR ruled him offside.
The Reds poured forward with the scores 2-2 and Henderson turned the ball in during the dying embers.
Everton players looked heartbroken as the current Premier League champions celebrated, but there would be one more twist.
VAR ruled Sadio Mane was offside in the build-up, meaning Michael Oliver overruled the strike.
This Jordan Henderson goal didn't count in the end after a controversial offside call...

But the no-look pass from Thiago to Mané deserved some love 👏 pic.twitter.com/b1kQaf4E9Q

But it was ruled for *this* offside call in the build-up 😳 pic.twitter.com/BJ2N2qc1jN
It means the first Merseyside derby of the season ended in a draw and Everton remain top of the table for this weekend.
Fans have reacted to the decision and they think Mane looked onside.
Current state of VAR and the handball rule are degrading the game.

Needs serious fixing or it will detract people from watching/enjoying the sport.
Enough is enough.
Two wrongs don't make a right and if you think I'm going to celebrate Liverpool getting robbed of a deserved win by VAR just because VAR robbed Arsenal over and over again last season then you're probably right. pic.twitter.com/q6g1MJWv5M

Mane is quite literally behind the blue line... do they just draw them at random?? #VAR pic.twitter.com/YUDkLKO0vp

Absolute joke of a game.

VAR is a farce. pic.twitter.com/YBaNuvlMcq
Again, the problem isn't VAR. The problem is the offside rule as it stands and the way it works with VAR. https://t.co/IExdUPxtB6

Liverpool fully deserved to win that game - they were excellent, by miles the better team. But they didn’t because VAR is a joke, broke or both. Simple as that.

Liverpool took the lead inside three minutes through Mane, but Virgil van Dijk hobbled off in the 11th minute after a challenge from Jordan Pickford.
Michael Keane equalised for the Toffees with a thumping header.
Mohamed Salah restored the Reds' lead in the second half but Dominic Calvert-Lewin hit back with his tenth goal of the season.
Richarlison was sent off in the dying embers for a horrific challenge on Thiago Alcantara, which left both men in a heap.
