'Sergio Aguero Penalty Miss Makes It Four In A Row For Manchester City

Manchester City's poor run at penalties continued on Saturday evening, thanks to Sergio Aguero, but they went on to win their Premier League game against Leicester City.

Pep Guardiola's team somewhat controversially won a penalty in the second half against Leicester on Saturday evening, after the Foxes had their own similar appeal turned down in the first half.

Aguero stepped up to take the penalty but his effort was saved by Kasper Schmeichel, meaning that the Sky Blues have failed to convert any of their last four attempts from 'the spot.'

Gabriel Jesus wasn't on the pitch for the chance against Wolves and his miss against Sheffield United was his third in his previous five attempts.

That led to Guardiola removing him from penalty duty. Ilkay Gundogan took over but he missed against Spurs, with the north London side going on to win 2-0.

On Saturday the still defending Premier League champions were lucky not to give a penalty away when James Maddison's free kick was blocked by Kevin de Bruyne's arm as he was trying to protect his face.

After being taken off penalty duty in January, Jesus, who scored the winning goal against Leicester, suggested that goalkeeper Ederson should be on penalties, saying, "Ederson is a very cool guy. It's true he doesn't have blood (in his veins).

"If the manager said to him take them, I think he's going to score."

After yet another outfield player let him down from 12 yards out, it might be time Guardiola actually turned to his goalkeeper next time.
