Kaizer Chiefs defender Anthony Agay Akumu has given his teammates valuable advice ahead of their CAF Champions League group C clash against Moroccan outfit Wydad Casablanca.
Chiefs take on Wydad in Ouagadougou, Burkina Faso on Sunday, with the weather temperature expected to be as high as 39 degrees.
“In west Africa the weather is always hot. The best way to manage the game is manage our energy, not to go all out. If we get that chance to attack, then we do it. But the best thing is to try manage our energy because we need it for the 90 minutes. We should not just use it in the first 15 minutes. The best way is to manage our energy,” the Kenyan told the Chiefs media department.
“We believe and trust we have prepared well and we are ready for the game.
“Wydad are a good side. They have been in the competition for many years and they have been doing well. On our side maybe we will look like underdogs, but that’s a good sign. Maybe they don’t know us. We just need to play our game the way we know it and do our best to get maximum points. The game being played on neutral ground is even better because it’s place we don’t know and they are also not familiar with the place, so that’s the good part about it.”
